Bulgari Hotels & Resorts has just announced that its second US property will open in 2025. If you were to stab a guess at its location from the lush and tranquil rendering above, it’s unlikely you’d have settled on Los Angeles.
Still, the resort’s arboreal setting will in fact stand less than five miles from Rodeo Drive. The 58-key hotel will occupy a 33-acre hillside park in the Santa Monica Mountains, and its vast grounds will also allow for the addition of eight private estates and a vast spa, alongside a cinema (an essential amenity for an aspirational luxury property in this city, obviously).
The most coveted accommodation on site will be within the eight private estates. Ranging in size from 12,000 to 48,000sq ft, each will be surrounded by private grounds that extend from one acre to five acres. Many of the hotel’s ‘regular’ rooms and suites will be located in standalone bungalows. To ensure the setting remains as bucolic as can be, developers will preserve hundreds of old-growth and native canopy trees during the build while 1,000 additional mature trees will be embedded in the terrain over time. Landscape design will be overseen by the Swiss landscape architect firm ENEA, which also designed Bulgari Hotel Beijing’s gardens. (That property, incidentally, is my favourite of all the Bulgari hotels I have stayed in, though the skyline views from the upper levels of the Shanghai outpost are phenomenal.)
Also to be found on the property will be the staple Bulgari Il Ristorante – Niko Romito outlet, featuring Italian dishes conceived by the eponymous chef, and an exclusive eight-seat sushi bar. Fitness facilities will again include Bulgari’s signature Workshop training facility.
The opening of Bulgari Resort Los Angeles in 2025 will be preceded by the launch of the 100-key Bulgari Hotel Miami Beach, slated for 2024. More imminently, Bulgari Hotel Paris is due to debut at the end of this year on Avenue George V. You can read more about the complete Bulgari Hotels & Resorts portfolio here.
